FROM THE MAKERS OF ‘STRICTLY COME DANCING’, THE BBC ARE LOOKING FOR TALENTED AMATEURS TO STRUT THEIR STUFF IN A BRAND NEW SERIES

For the first time ever, we’re inviting couples from the public at large to hit the dance floor and shake their stuff in front of millions of people. On the back of open auditions thousands of applicants will be whittled down to ten hopeful couples. They’ll then compete over a series of eight one-hour shows in live, head-to-head dance-offs.

And we’re not talking about the waltz. It’s John Travolta, not Fred Astaire; more Cuban nightclub than Blackpool ballroom, as our couples get down and dance to electrifying tunes. Out go the quickstep, the tango, the foxtrot. In come Salsa, swing, regetton, merengue, disco and the mambo as the dancers strut their stuff.

COUPLES OR SINGLES CAN APPLY BUT MUST BE OVER 18.

ALL ENTRANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR 8 WEEKS DURING APRIL AND MAY.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE UK RESIDENTS. NON DANCE PROFESSIONALS ONLY.

We want raw talent, star quality and an overwhelming desire to dance for Graham Norton's Strictly Dance Fever.

Auditions will be held across the UK. If you get through, you'll be taking part in a live dancing knockout competition for eight weeks during April and May 2005.

You must be over 18, a UK resident, and not a professional dancer. Couples or singles can apply.
