On behalf of the Board of Directors of the World
Salsa Federation, Inc., we would like to welcome
everyone to the 2006 World Salsa Federation
Championships. This year I am sure we will celebrate
with record attendance as we broke all records last
year in our wonderful new facility, the Miccosukee
Resort and Gaming in Miami Florida.
Over this festive and competitive weekend, we
will host 10 World Salsa Championships! Again this
year, we are proud to announce that we will host the
WSF DanceSport Pro/Am Adult Championships and the
WSF DanceSport Pro/Am Junior Championships. These
competitions have various dances, ages, and levels
to compete in. Also, for the second time, the WSF
will host the
2006 AAU National Championships in Salsa, Lindy Hop,
Hustle, Argentine Tango, Swing, and DanceSport, a
qualifying event for the 2007 AAU Junior Olympic
Games. There is something for everyone!!
During the exciting weekend, the WSF has put
together a fantastic array of Salsa experts in
almost every style imaginable. With workshops being
offered from beginners through advanced levels, and
dance parties every night, meeting new people and
making new friends will be unavoidable.
If this is a return visit for you, we are glad
you have chosen to join us again this year. If you
are a first time attendee, we hope you will enjoy
all that the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming facilities
have to offer, and will make this an annual
pilgrimage.
The WSF is committed to providing new inroads in
Salsa worldwide from certifying teachers, giving
awards to amateurs for excellence, training
certified Judges, and having a basis for Salsa as a
sport as well as a recreational activity. The WSF is
proud to have Salsa and its syllabus as the official
syllabus for the AAU Junior Olympic Games.
Once again, best wishes to all and thank you for
your support of the World Salsa Federation
Championships.
